Proud of Birthright
Why are people proud of how they were born? I understand being happy with who you are, but when you boast about genetic or geographical traits like you won a competition, that's when I scratch my head. Being proud of skin color, gender, size, hair, eyes, or whatever makes no sense. It's not like we earn any of that. Do some people just have no real traits to be proud of, like intellect, strength, loyalty, etc. so they resort to things given at birth? It all seems cheap to me, especially when the compliments come from other people.
